Gray Autumn /series

Iran’s Gilan Province is more than just a region to me: It’s where I was born and spent the first three or four years of my life. What I love the most about Gilan are its rainfalls and the gray weather in whose fog things, people, and nature slowly fade away. That’s the image I sometimes remember of it. Even so, some of the people who live there may be tired of that kind of weather and prefer a clear blue sky decorated with a single white cloud. Autumn in Gilan in 2018 was the same as it ever was—for me, though, it was something else: full of gray shades of distant memories.
